Telteca Winery (Mendoza, Argentina)
The Huarpe people lived in harmony with their surroundings as they laid the foundations of Mendoza’s first irrigation channels, presently known as “acequias”. European immigrants later refined the Huarpe’s irrigation system and adapted the channels for the cultivation of vines, allowing Mendoza to showcase its great winemaking potential to the world today.
The winery’s stainless steel tanks have a capacity of 2 million liters for fermentation and storage. Additionally, our underground concrete pools hold a capacity of 1 million liters. We also count on two climate controlled cellars, one for our French and American oak barrels and one for keeping our wines evolving in the bottle.
The original irrigation channels created by the Huarpes have been restored and now transport the waters from the Andes. Within the vineyards, the modern drip irrigation system produces perfectly balanced vines, with fruits of great flavour and excellent quality.
Fruit is a protagonist in our wines, which reflect the virtues of vineyard that is taken care of to exalt its optimum natural qualities. An abundance of sunny days as well as a wide range of temperatures that can reach up to 15ºC / 17ºC (59ºF/63ºF), are the source of our wines’ vivid colours, distinct aromas, complex flavours and well-structured body.
The secret to our wines is in the combination of our grape selection, our virtuous terroir and the experience of our winemaker Jose Pedro Gomez, who diligently searches to create the perfect expression of each grape variety.
From this mission for perfection, Telteca wines are born; wines with a noble fruity character, pronounced varietal expression, surprising intense aromas and vivid colours. The quality of our wines and variety of styles make Telteca an excellent choice for enjoying exciting wines from the New World.
