Blend: 100% Viura coming from 30 years old vines
Region: DO Rioja, Spain
Winery: The name LAN derives from the initials of the three provinces part of the DO Rioja: Logroño, Alava, Navarra.
Vinification: Manually harvested, the de-stemmed Viura grapes were softly crushed and macerated for 14 hours prior to fermentation in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks. Fermented at a low temperature (18 C) for three weeks, it was then macerated in contact with the lees for a further four months prior to bottling.
Tasting Notes: Straw yellow with green hues denoting its youth, LAN Blanco exhibits on the nose the herbal aromas characteristic of the Viura grape variety, with hints of fresh fruit (apple, pear, lime). Medium bodied and round, the lemon zest and orange peel that prevail on the palate are a taste preview of its crisp finish.
Food Pairing: Works well on its own as a fresh “patio sipping” wine. LAN Blanco pairs nicely with all kinds of hors d’oeuvres, pasta, mussels, shrimp and fish.
